Renera makes its debut at ABIM 2026 and positions Brazil among global bioinputs players

Participation reinforces the country’s international relevance in the biocontrol sector and expands opportunities for business, cooperation, and technological visibility

Renera – Brazilian Bioinputs Hub, an initiative by CLB (CropLife Brasil) in partnership with ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), is participating for the first time in the Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting 2026 – ABIM (known in Portuguese as Encontro Anual da Indústria de Controle Biológico), the leading global conference dedicated to biocontrol, held from October 20 to 22 in Basel, Switzerland. Brazil’s participation reinforces the country’s international relevance in the sector and expands opportunities for business, cooperation, and technological visibility.

The Renera project will have an institutional booth in Hall 4.0, number 057, I will add: with the presence of CropLife Brasil’s director, Amália Borsari; the hub’s manager, Renata Meliga; and the organization’s Regulatory and Institutional Affairs Manager for Bioinputs, Julia Pupe. In addition to its fixed booth, the initiative will engage in networking and build relevant connections throughout the event to promote and export Brazilian biological products. ABIM is recognized worldwide as the sector’s most important global gathering, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, regulators, investors, and public policymakers.

The event is considered the central forum for discussing trends, presenting innovations, and developing global strategies to advance biocontrol — a rapidly growing segment that is establishing itself as a fundamental pillar of sustainable agriculture.

ABIM: the global center of biocontrol innovation

The 2026 edition highlights three strategic pillars:

•          Day 1 – Innovation in biocontrol: showcasing the most advanced technologies and the research shaping the sector’s future.

•          Day 2 – Impact on the value chain: how innovations translate into adoption, competitiveness, and market expansion.

•          Day 3 – Public policies for global scaling: developing regulatory frameworks that enable broader use of biological solutions across different regions.

ABIM’s program is recognized for its independence and technical rigor. Speakers are selected through an open call or invited by the event’s executive board, ensuring credibility and a diversity of perspectives in the discussions. The conference also stands out for bringing together the leading global players — major companies, startups, research centers, international organizations, and regulatory authorities — establishing itself as the most strategic environment for those working with biocontrol and bioinputs at the industrial level.

Brazil in a leadership position

For project manager Renata Meliga, participation in the event represents a decisive step toward positioning Brazil among the leading global players in biocontrol. “Being at the sector’s largest international gathering reinforces our image as an innovative, competitive country committed to sustainable solutions. This participation expands business opportunities, strengthens strategic connections, and consolidates Brazil’s position as a global benchmark in bioinputs,” she emphasizes.

By participating in ABIM with its own booth, Renera increases Brazil’s visibility, strengthens its integration into global biological technology value chains, and opens doors to new commercial, scientific, and institutional partnerships. Among the main highlights being shared are:

•          the country’s scientific and technological capabilities;

•          the strength of its biodiversity as a foundation for innovation;

•          the sector’s regulatory and production advances;

•          the international competitiveness of Brazilian companies.
